Jumping Around at Sky Zone

How is everyone enjoying the nice January weather? I definitely love the lack of snow, keeps my boots clean from salt stains! I had the opportunity to spend one of these mild days at a very interesting facility in Toronto called Sky Zone. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the name, Sky Zone is an indoor trampoline park that’s a great place to have fun and also get fit. I locked my phone away so couldn’t take any pictures at the activity stations, but hopefully I can help you visualize!

To get a better idea, imagine a large empty warehouse. One section of the room is filled with individual trampolines. This is where you can jump around with friends and is also the place where Sky Zone hosts their fitness classes. Once you have the feel for jumping on a trampoline, you can head towards the other end of the room where you can practice your slam dunk skills using a trampoline. One of my favourite things to do at Sky Zone is jumping into a giant pit full of foam cubes. I’ve always seen this on TV and have been dying to try it out. It was as much fun as it looks! Lastly we finished by playing a few games of dodgeball with my group of friends – of course trampoline style. Some people can be very competitive, but it’s a lot of fun even if you’re not athletic.

So how does this all work? Basically you buy a time slot and some awesome slip proof trampoline socks. You’re given a sticker with your time slot to place on your clothes so make sure to keep an eye on the clock. Before going to the front desk though, you have to fill out a waiver either online or at one of their computers. Sky Zone does a great job with practicing safe jumping, having staff overseeing all activities at all times. They don’t have a designated changing area but my friends and I just used the washrooms. I cannot stress how important it is for you to be wearing comfy clothes that you can jump around in! You get really sweaty easily so I would not recommend jeans (especially since they don’t stretch much).

Sky Zone is a great place to spend time with friends and family. It’s very accommodating for all ages, so even the little ones can have a safe and fun time. Warning: be prepared for a full body workout!
