Hola! Reminiscing Cuba
Any avid travelers here? Around this time last year I had the pleasure of going to sunny Cuba with some girl friends. Beautiful ocean, scorching hot sun, all you can drink bar… oh how I wouldn’t mind that right now. With that being said, I thought I’d share some photo memories I made on my trip to Holguin, Cuba with you here!
One of the things I noticed right away was how similar Cuba was to Okinawa in terms of climate and vegetation – this made me a little nostalgic of my trips there! Due to the US embargo, a lot of cars and machinery looked like they were from the 50s. The 5 star resort we stayed at was very nice and accommodating. It was very open concept and we got to meet a lot of other Canadians and even people from the UK. The resort had a pool, easy access to the beach, snack bars, and a dance club. A caution of warning: do not expect the food to be the greatest! Many people brought their own ketchup and hot sauce to make their food less bland.
My favourite part of the trip was relaxing at the beach and exploring the wildlife. The nature was so beautiful! I got to even snorkel with fish as well as swim with dolphins (which is something the resort will happily arrange for you).
There are many good deals right now if you want to make a quick getaway with some friends. This was the first time I travelled to the Caribbean and definitely makes me want to go back! Can I hop on the plane now?
